Stretch mark camouflage refers to the use of various techniques and products to conceal or minimize the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. Stretch marks, also known as striae, are often the result of rapid growth, weight gain, or hormonal changes that cause the skin to stretch beyond its usual capacity, leading to the development of visible lines or streaks on the skin.
We can conceal stretch marks at our studio with two techniques:

Scar camouflage via paramedical tattooing, is a cosmetic tattooing technique used to conceal or minimize the appearance of scars on the skin. This process involves applying pigments into the skin to match the natural skin tone and texture, helping to blend the scar with the surrounding tissue.

Non-laser tattoo and pigment removal refer to methods or techniques used to remove unwanted tattoos or permanent makeup without the use of laser technology. While laser tattoo removal is a common and effective method, some individuals may prefer non-laser alternatives for various reasons, including cost, skin sensitivity/pain, and number of return visits.
This technique involves applying a salt-based solution to the tattooed area and then abrading the skin's surface using a tattoo machine. Afterwards, a solution is placed on the area that aids in lifting the tattoo pigments from the skin. Multiple sessions will be required.
At Inkling Beauty Bar, we utilize Tattoo Vanish's non-laser tattoo removal methods.

Tattooed areolas, also known as areola pigmentation or nipple/areola tattooing, is a cosmetic tattooing procedure designed to enhance or recreate the appearance of the areolas and nipples. This technique is often sought by individuals who have undergone breast reconstruction surgery, mastectomy, or breast augmentation and want to achieve a more natural-looking result. We create the illusion of hyperrealistic areolas with three-dimensional drawing and tattooing techniques.

A non-invasive skin-brightening service that combines exfoliating serums, brightening creams, and LED light therapy to gradually lighten dark spots, discoloration, or hyperpigmentation on the body.
This service is good for body areas (i.e. knees, elbows, armpits, & misc. dark spots that are NOT birthmarks, freckles, blending vitiligo, various types of scars), lips, areolas, and intimate areas.

About
Welcome to Inkling Beauty Bar! I’m Valerie—a licensed and multi-certified paramedical tattoo and permanent makeup artist based in the heart of San Francisco. My work lives at the intersection of art, science, and healing, and every aspect of my journey has led me here—to a career devoted to helping people feel whole and confident in their skin again.
Long before I picked up a tattoo machine, I was immersed in the worlds of healthcare, art, and technology. During my college years, while pursuing a pre-dental track, I began working in restorative dentistry as a dental technician—designing and handcrafting porcelain teeth with exacting precision. That experience sharpened my understanding of anatomy, symmetry, color theory, and proportion—all essential to both cosmetic dentistry and paramedical tattooing. Around the same time, I also became certified as a phlebotomist (no stranger to needles!), gaining hands-on experience and learning the importance of proper technique, bedside manner, and client comfort—skills I carry into every procedure I perform today.
Furthermore, my passion for aesthetics is matched by a deep love of both technology, and the beauty & health industries. In recent years, I’ve worked as a support engineer in the fintech and 3D tech industries, and I continue to embrace innovation in my own practice. Just as I stay on top of technological advancements, I’m equally invested in the latest beauty trends, cutting-edge techniques, and health-forward approaches to care and healing. I see a powerful connection between these fields—each one enhancing the other—and I’m constantly researching better ways to integrate them for more effective, safe, and transformative results. Whether it’s discovering new pigments, improving healing protocols, or adopting smarter tools and methods, I’m always learning, evolving, and expanding what I offer. Clients can expect high-quality services rooted in innovation, safety, and precision. We invite you to keep an eye out for newly added treatments as we continue to grow and push boundaries in all the best ways!
As a specialist in paramedical tattooing— my main services are scar and stretch mark camouflage, areola restoration (including after mastectomies or gender-affirming surgery), and other techniques designed to restore the skin and redefine confidence. My approach is rooted in empathy, shaped not only by my technical training but also by my time as a crisis counselor, where I learned to meet people where they are and walk with them through vulnerable moments.
Also, coming from a strong foundation in classical and traditional art, with training in realistic drawing, 3D design, and the principles of visual illusion. I use this to create results that are not just functional—but visually seamless and transformative. I hope the services I provide will bring a positive impact to your life!
Sincerest gratitude to those who believe in the value of these services and entrust me with the privilege of guiding them through the transformative process. Thank you for your confidence in my abilities and the shared commitment to this restorative journey.
